March 2005 This months issue of Infectious Disease News sports a facelift, but inside contains the same news content you have come to expect from us. Our mission has always been to educate and inform you to help you stay abreast of the latest information about infectious diseases, and that mission has not changed in 18 years.
News coverage of major medical meetings and reports from the IDSA, FDA and others are still here, as is all the timely and relevant clinical information we hope you can use in your daily practice. Weve streamlined our look. The result is an Infectious Disease News that is better organized and easier to read. The front of the newspaper will always present breaking news and commentary featuring the latest information about infectious diseases, as well as the great columnists you love: From the Editor by Theodore C. Eickhoff, MD, and Pharmacology Consult by Elizabeth Dodds Ashley, PharmD, and Marianne Billeter, PharmD, as well as guest editorials about topical subjects from leading experts in the field. In addition, weve added some new experts to our editorial advisory board to give you well-rounded news coverage about infectious diseases. We meet regularly with these folks to make sure our editorial is on target. Subsequent sections will cover HIV and AIDS, emerging diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases and other important areas. Each section will be color-coded to make finding the information you want easier. And we will still feature a special section each month devoted to one hot topic in infectious diseases. Our reporters go everywhere, so you dont have to. Trained journalists, they travel to meetings and symposia around the country to find out whats new in clinical practice because we know you cant always leave your busy practice to attend these meetings. And we give this information to you faster than any other print publication journal or newspaper. You might be asking, why we dont leave well enough alone? The answer is easy: We believe that we can always be better. If you like or dislike what we are doing, please let me know. I can be reached at mrosenthal@slackinc.com. Your opinions and ideas are important to us and we look forward to hearing from you. |
